Structerre specialises in engineering solutions
Structerre has developed a widespread reputation for providing multi-disciplinary and cost-effective engineering services and prides itself on having established client relationships that are paramount to its success.
“Our business is purely focused on the client’s satisfaction from utilising our expertise. We are their service provider,” Mr Purich said.
“Ours is a commonsense approach of having hard working staff and treating our clients like you want to be treated yourself. There are no egos in our company and you won’t see images on the walls of completed projects as a monument to us. The recognition should be about the client shining brightly.”
While Mr Purich was surprised and honoured to receive the Master Builders Association Robert Law Award in 2006 for outstanding commitment and contribution to the building and construction industry, his self-effacing attitude is that “it is a by-product of having clients”.
Structerre was established in the Perth suburb of Balcatta in 1980 with a mission of building a company that could provide specialist engineering solutions that were affordable as well as easy to understand for both builders and homeowners.
Within seven years it had opened its first regional West Australian office in Bunbury to service the south-west market and in 1996 expanded to the north-west with its Geraldton office launched to also service Karratha.
Structerre had rapidly gained a reputation for its broad range of services and saw the opportunity to make its mark on the eastern seaboard with the opening of its first national office in Brisbane in 2005.
In 2009, Formsteel, a framing company which had worked alongside Structerre for many years, became part of its family, and in the same year a further office opened in Albany, WA.
The national extension was progressed even further with Sydney opening in 2011 and Melbourne in 2014.
Mr Purich said that from the outset the company adopted a set of values that remain a priority and drives its initiatives under the acronym of FIRST - Family values; Integrity and honesty; Respect and opportunity; Self improvement, and Team commitment.
A mid-tier operator, Structerre focuses on a large number of smaller projects, although it has completed bigger ones, adding its experience and knowledge to residential, commercial and infrastructure projects, geotechnical investigations and testing, site inspections, energy assessments and environmental factors.
Structerre has an impressive portfolio of diverse client projects involving its divisions in major developments through to input into aged care centres and retirement complexes, residential properties, apartments and warehouses.
While no one project is any less significant than another, some of its recent projects include:

Mr Purich said there are some simple reasons for clients choosing Structerre and for it being retained for repeat business.
“They prefer our client-focused approach and all that comes with this, including ongoing support,” Mr Purich said.
“Our multi-disciplinary service offers a onestop solution. We can provide them with cost-effective results and they rely on our accuracy and efficiency.
“We have an innovative approach to engineering and are constantly looking at ways to make things more efficient and economical. Adding value back to our cients’ bottom line is a priority.
“We make understanding our clients’ business our business, so that we can provide excellent engineering service from the ground up.”
Structerre Consulting Engineers chief executive officer and company co-founder Gervase Purich oversee the business at the Perth office.
